Nobody Like Him

Are you comforted in knowing God is truly original; a unique God? Do you sleep a little easier at night knowing that God got you right where he wants you to be? Is it too much to believe that he will fulfill the purpose and plan for your life? Numbers 23:19 says God is not human that he should lie. Not a human being that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? We have got to remember God is not like us. He isn’t fickle. He doesnt go around operating and moving in accordance with what we are accustom too. He isn’t bound by laws of man. And truly thank God for it. He is timelessly unwaivering; assured and affirmed in His word by His word. Thank God for his grace; his abiding love. When it gets rough oh and it will get tough in this Christian walk, rejoice knowing there isn’t anybody like The Most High God.

Can I Get a Lil Room Please?!

Do you ever expect people to move at the same pace you do? I know I do. It even frustrates me when people for what ever reason must go through certain circumstances in order to gain a full understanding. Only after I’ve given advice that wasn’t taken head. But then I sit and ask myself is this biblical? Although I am given advice based on the lessons I’ve learned for some as well as for myself it took the situations to produce a certain level of one humility and two maturity. It took lessons lived through in order to gain a full knowledge of what God was in fact doing. Sure the I told you so’s rang in my ear but what it boiled down to was the new person I was becoming.

Then why is it so hard to allow people the room they need to grow and become the new person that God has created them to be? I wonder what it would be like if we lived in a world where we spreaded prayer verses the latest tea; gossip, 411. I mean think about it, what would really happen if we got on our knees and took their issues before the Lord in hopes that God would do the internal work? I believe that sometimes it’s hard for people to hear past their own carnality and sometimes it’s hard for people to give opinions past their own carnality which sometimes overshadows the truth bebig conveyed. However what God Says in his word in James 5:16  is for us to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another. Let’s try that the next time we’re giving advice. Let’s pray first and allow God to speak……Are you listening?

Better Him than Me!

I always wondered what would have happned had Jesus not died on the cross. More importantly I contemplate what life would have been like if we had to be crucified literally for our own sins. NO WAY right?

Sometimes it seems we walk around in a comatose state knowing who was crucified but never fully identifying with the act done on the cross because “well it just aint me”. We somehow forget this selfless act was done for us and not by us and we don’t always hold it in the same regard. We think we somehow get a self entitled pass for His merciful gift; crucifixion.

How would you feel if your flesh was ripped, mangled, and beaten to a pulp only to be forgotten about? He was perfect we aren’t. True better Jesus than you because alot of us would have never gone to the cross. With that being said never ever forget what Jesus did for us. Don’t become so complacent in life that you take advantage of the gift given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Choice Is Yours

I have heard over a dozen times people say that wish God would just eliminate free will altogether. Some even go as far as questioning why He created it in the first place. The assumption is without free will everyone would be forced to do what God says right? But the truth of the matter is God isn’t forceful. He can be when it’s necessary and has shown that. He has also shown that He is love (1 John 4:8). God created us to be all that He intends for us to be and in order to do so He allows us to blossom into it through our choices. God isn’t a warden and we aren’t prisoners. Rather we are royalty (1 Peter 2:9).

Yes, God has commandments that we must follow. No different than the rules we outline for our children. However, our obedience is birth out of love and respect because one of God’s main objective is to protect us. We can’t always see why we need protection yet and still spiritual warfare is real (Ephesians 6:12).  Angel armies are fighting demons on our behalf daily (Ps.91:11). Don’t for a second think the devil isn’t sitting back using every aspect of our lives against us especially our choices. The Word tells us that sin is birth when we give into it. When WE make the choice not God(James 1:14-18)

It’s not enough that we simply acknowledge we have been saved in order to live a Chrisitan life. No! It’s bigger than that. God desires a pure heart and as we choose wisely He can further gauge the condition of our hearts. Making wise choices is hard and will not happen overnight. Not that God isn’t able. LETS BE REAL we have been conditioned. The whole American Christian Culture has been programmed to know of God but have yet to uncover the true miraculous power that lies in the name of Jesus.

Your flesh will always be weak or else it wouldn’t be a choice, would it? But these three C’s of Choices can give us just what we need to get through.

The Confidence to believe in our choices- “For the LORD will be your confidence,
And will keep your foot from being caught.”Proverbs 3:26 (NKJV) Remember we get caught up spiritually and carnally when we make the wrong choices.

The Courage to stand up without fear for our choices- “For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13(NIV) Remember we don’t have to be afraid to make the choices that don’t please our flesh because God will help.

The Character created from making the right choices.“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”Romans 13:14 Remember when we make choices that don’t gratify our flesh we are taking on the posture of Christ.

Do away with Religion

Isaiah :1-31( Message Bible)

Isaiah is known as the prophet who let the Word of God mold him. He displayed God’s characteristic of being Holy. The entire book of Isaiah is littered with nuggets of Holiness and the need for it. It shatters every myth of sacrifice over obedience. Bringing to the light the damages of religion and all thinking associated with it.  Isaiah allowed himself to be a vessel for God speaking what thus says the Lord.

Isaiah tells Judah that their behavior has gotten them no where. They were just a hop and a skip away from being like Sodom and Gomorrah….DOOMED.  God was sick of their empty acts of sacrifices masked as obedience. Sound familiar? Ritualistically going to church, bible study, every church event and function, serving on the usher board, singing in the choir, secretarial duties and more, while going home to complete chaos?
Quit your worship charades.I can’t stand your trivial religious games: Monthly conferences, weekly Sabbaths, special meetings—meetings, meetings, meetings—I can’t stand one more! Meetings for this, meetings for that. I hate them You’ve worn me out!(MSG Bible)

Lets keep it real. I have literally been in church and no later than hitting the parking lot been in a full blown argument. In the past I have past judgment on the homeless because of my assumption as to what they would do with the money.I’m telling you I have gotten into a fight and not just a little fight I’m talking about an all out I’m trying to take you out kind of fight and yet went to a conference less than 15 mins later. It was exhausting. Going to church doing everything religiously correct while spiritually decaying. I’m sick of your religion, religion, religion, while you go right on sinning.  From the bottom of your feet to the top of your head, nothing’s working right.(MSG Bible)

This can be because we are empty. We have gotten more focused on the acts of worship then who we are worshiping. Some because honestly that is exactly what tradition has taught them.  You are to worship this way! You are to speak this way! Be sure to pray this way!

For the most part when you visit a church you are expected to possibly: join the church, take their version of the  essentials of Christianity course, get placed in a ministry, and participate in every single church service event. Sure you are hearing the word but as it says in the good book don’t just be hearers only fooling yourself but be doers also. (James 1:22)

Now while you are doing all of these wonderful things how’s that heart? How’s that willingness to HELP not HINDER the poor? Where is the ability to; Sweep your lives clean of your evildoings so I (God) don’t have to look at them any longer. Say no to wrong. Learn to do good. Work for justice. Help the down-and-out? Stand up for the homeless. Go to bat for the defenseless?(MSG Bible)
The alternative is far worse; No matter how long or loud or often you pray, I’ll not be listening. And do you know why? Because you’ve been tearing people to pieces, and your hands are bloody.(MSG Bible)
I don’t know about you but the whole idea of a prayer is to be heard by God and to have him look the other way because of my stubbornness is devastating. Lets today decide to stop with the trivial religious games. And go for a more fitting lifestyle change. That’s where the molding takes place. That’s where the Holy Life begins. God Bless…

Father God, I just thank you on this day. Lord  I bless your name because you are truly worthy to be praised. Thank you for your Word that is never changing, yet ever altering our lives. What a mighty God we truly do serve. Lord God draw us closer into a deeper intimate relationship with you. We surrender to you all areas of religious practices that may be causing our own prayers to go on heard by you. We want to be Holy. We know that we are more than a conqueror in  you and we trust you  in Jesus Mighty Name we pray Amen. Got a prayer request?
